The Code of Good Practice
Such PIE exercises are quite new to Ireland but in the UK, where they are more prevalent, an industry-wide Code of Good Practice (the Code) exists to cover options like this. The Code sets out what it expects good practice to be, so that individuals receiving an offer such as this are able to make informed choices about their pension.
The principles-based Code is voluntary but in making this option available to you, the Company and the Plan Trustees have made sure the option complies with the Code's principles.
Willis Towers Watson also ensure that their tailored financial advice in in line with the code.
